Meritor to establish part-distribution center in Xuzhou


SHANGHAI – During the 2011 China International Parts & Components Exhibition for Construction Equipment, Meritor, Inc. announced its plan to build a 2,300-square-meter Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province.

This new distribution center, located in the company’s recently expanded manufacturing facility which is part of its off-highway joint venture in China, Xuzhou Meritor Axle Co. Ltd., is expected to be in full operation in February 2012.

Once established, the Xuzhou distribution center will serve as Meritor’s off-highway aftermarket operation hub in China, offering a variety of drivetrain, chassis and suspension system parts for China’s off-highway aftermarket. Equipped with fully automated packaging and printing devices, the Xuzhou distribution center will have advanced warehousing, logistic and information management systems, aimed to improve parts production efficiency, enhance stock capacity, and accelerate delivery speed. In addition, the Xuzhou distribution center will have staff dedicated to supplier development, purchasing, sales, quality, customer service and warehousing management, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
