Carlsson to begin selling cars in China next month
Famed Mercedes-Benz tuner Carlsson will begin selling cars in China, with its first dealer opening its doors next month, xgo.com.cn reported earlier this week. The German manufacturer has reportedly begun laying the groundwork for its appearance at this year’s Guangzhou International Motor Show. Carlsson also plans to open a high-end showroom in the country by the end of the year.
Carlsson hopes to capitalize on the recent rapid growth of the luxury car market in China. The manufacturer is reportedly aiming to establish a joint venture company in the country. All marketing and after sales staff will have to undergo strict technical training, with staff cycled to go to Carlsson’s German headquarters for additional instruction. All repair equipment will also be imported from Germany.
The first vehicle Carlsson will be bringing over will be the CS60 (pictured), based on the Mercedes-Benz S-600.
